Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna said President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Aisha Alhassan as a minister despite complaints by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
El-Rufai lambasted the Minister of Women Affairs for being disloyal to the President, adding that she was never a Buhari supporter but a loyalist of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.
The governor claimed Alhassan did not also vote for Buhari during the APC presidential primary.
Also, the national working committee (NWC) of the APC has called for her resignation.
A member of the NWC and national vice chairman, northwest zone, Inuwa Abdukadir, called for the resignation of Alhassan on Friday in Abuja while speaking with journalists.
He also attacked former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, describing him as a liar and blackmailer.
The party chieftain described Atiku’s comments about President Buhari and APC as misleading.
On his part, el-Rufai who spoke with State House reporters at the Villa on Friday, however, said her retention or otherwise as a cabinet minister should be at the discretion of the President.
