German police have issued an urgent appeal to parents to stop posting photos of their children on Facebook and other social media platforms.
The Hagen Police post said that while parents may think the photos are sweet today, it can result in endless embarrassment for children a few years down the line.
The post added that the photos of children can even be exploited by bullies or paedophiles.
The police urged parents to respect the privacy of their children, with the warning: “The Internet forgets nothing”.
