DSS commissions 385 Cadet Officers

The Department of State Security, DSS, has commissioned three hundred and eighty-five Cadet Officers in a bid to combat rising security challenges in the country.

The officers were commissioned in Lagos after undergoing ten months of rigorous professional academic and physical training and certified fit to serve the nation in their capacity.

The DSS promised to collaborate with other sister security agencies in its fight against insecurity and ensure that recruitment into the service is merit based.

Director-General of the DSS, Lawal Daura said gone are the days when misfit or non-eligible candidate find their ways into the service.

He said the commissioning was an attempt by the service rejuvenate itself through injection of new blood and vigour, adding that an institution that fails to change with the time or periodically re-evaluate itself will ultimately become irrelevant.
