INEC To recruits lecturers and students for Edo guber election

The Edo State Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has anounce that INEC will recruit 5,000 lecturers student of University of Benin and Auchi Polytechnic for the July 14 governorship elections.


The Head of Public Affairs, Mrs Priscillia Imoudu-Sule, who disclosed this on Wednesday 27th July in an interview in Benin the state capital.

According to her, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Kassim Gaidam, will announce training date for the selected persons at the Auchi polytechnic, in Etsako-West Local Government.

Mrs. Imoudu-Sule explained that the school management of both institutions will be responsible for the selection of the lecturers and students to be used as INEC ad hoc staff for the election.

She explained that the school authorities will place instruction those selected on the character and moral standing required of them.

“While the Resident Election Commissioner will at the training ground session more upon them the enormity of the assignment and the high sense of patriotism required of them while on the job,” she said.

Mrs. Imoudu-Sule added that a total of 10,000 ad hoc staff including the already trained members of the National Youth Service Corps will work with the INEC staff to conduct a succeful electi
She also said closely 1.6 million voters are expected to participate in the election.
