Spider-Man: Homecoming adds Abraham Attah The young Beasts of No Nation star

Spider-Man: Homecoming continues to weave its web. Sony and Marvel’s reboot taking the wall-crawler back to high school has added Abraham Attah, the 15-year-old Ghanaian actor known for his breakout role in Beasts of No Nation, EW has confirmed.

Attah was discovered while playing soccer and cast as a child soldier opposite Idris Elba in Netflix’s prestige drama, for which the teenager won Film Independent’s Spirit Award for Best Male Lead. He joins a Homecoming cast that includes Tom Holland as Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man/Tony Stark, and Michael Keaton as the main villain.

The film, which just started shooting in Atlanta, has been casting up in recent weeks, adding Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Logan Marshall-Green, Kenneth Choi, and Hannibal Buress, among others.
Cop Car director Jon Watts is helming the movie, which is scheduled to hit theaters July 7, 2017.
Deadline first reported Attah’s casting.
