Bridget and Andrew Elegant, Intimate Surprises Vineyard Wedding As They Tied The knot

Bridget Moynahan sure knows how to throw a surprise party!

Guests first arrived at Wölffer Estate Vineyards in Sagaponack, New York, on Saturday, for what they thought would be a harvest moon celebration. They were all in for a pleasant surprise when theirBlue Bloods star host revealed she and businessman Andrew Frankel had just tied the knot!

"They decided to keep the ceremony secret," event planners Ann David and Nicky Reinhard of David Reinhard Events tell PEOPLE exclusively in this week's issue. "Only family [including Moynahan's son John, 8, with ex Tom Brady] and a small number of close friends attended before the party."

The couple exchanged vows in an open field on the vineyard and soon after, "guests arrived and were immediately surprised to hear the news!"

It was the ideal setting for the couple, who first met through a mutual friend and had recently spent time together enjoying the Hamptons. Says the planners, "Bridget and Andrew loved the idea of an intimate, fall harvest wedding."

For the evening's decor, they let nature be their guide. "She loved the understated elegance of the location combined with the festive fall feeling," says the planners. "At dinner they used long rustic wood tables with a runner of eucalyptus and lemon leaves and a white floral garland."

Moynahan, who recently co-authored The Blue Bloods Cookbook (out Nov. 3), opted for rustic cuisine as well. Guests, including pal Brooke Shields, enjoyed a farm-to-table feast of three courses and music from a guitar trio and a DJ spinning the couple's favorite artists ranging from Bruno Mars to Frank Sinatra.

"They wanted a cool vibe and great energy," says the planners. "They really wanted the night to feel more like a large family dinner party than a wedding. It was all about simplicity and ease."
